i-Teams wins the 3rd Innovative Youth Incubator Awards

Zurina Moktar presented as part of the global 3rd Innovative Youth Incubator Awards in Washington DC, competing against finalists from the Netherlands, Canada, Kenya and South Africa. The conference was the 6th International Conference on Innovation and Entrepreneurship 2018 (ICIE) organised by the University of the District of Columbia, Georgetown University and George Washington University.

After three rounds of judging, Zurina’s presentation and report about Cambridge University i-Teams and our track record was awarded joint first place for excellence in Student Incubators with the University of Twente.

The reports for the 6 selected finalists were published as a book of case studies, and 5 of the finalists were able to present in person at the conference. These were University of Twente (Netherlands), Ryerson University (Toronto Canada), University of Central Lancashire (UK), University of KwaZulu Natal (South Africa), Kenya University (Kenya) and the University of Cambridge. The University of Twente presented the Dutch Student Investment Fund, the first student-run investment fund in the EU.

Previous winners were: Oamk Labs, Oulu University Finland (2017), and Copenhagen School of Entrepreneurship (2016)
