“Participating in i-Teams has been one of the best things I did while being in Cambridge.”
Interested in how new technologies are commercialised? Looking to learn from real entrepreneurs? Want to gain hands-on skills and experience by working in a team with post-graduates from other departments and colleges? Then read on!
Projects for this course:
- An AI-powered language learning platform (Letera)
- A miniaturised sensor for robotics, medical prosthetics, industrial automation & beyond
- Measuring the complexity of human experience in clinical trials
By joining an i-Team, you will work for a term with postgraduates from across the University and a dedicated industry mentor. You will receive weekly training from entrepreneurs and industry experts and investigate the commercial potential and user requirements of a real Cambridge invention. You will gain hands-on skills and experience in a real-world technology consulting-type project.
Applications are welcomed from postgraduates and researchers from any discipline. No previous commercial background required.
The programme includes weekly group sessions, team meetings and individual work. i-Teams present their final recommendations to a business and academic audience at the end of the term. The full syllabus is available here.
The course will run at the IfM (West Cambridge site) on Monday evenings from October 7th with a final presentation session on Wednesday December 11th. Sessions start with pizza at 6.30pm, a lecture or workshop at 7pm and then time for team meetings. Zoom links are available for anyone who cannot attend in person.
