In collaboration with the Centre for Global Equality (CGE), we are delighted to announce the start of the first Nairobi i-Teams programme in collaboration with Strathmore University in Nairobi.
Three multi-disciplinary teams of students will meet weekly to investigate the commercial opportunities in Kenya for three new technologies. Two are from leading ventures in the CGE Cultivator (BlueTap and WaterScope) and one is hosted by the Strathmore Energy Research Centre (SERC), Solar E-Cycles.
The team running the programme in Nairobi includes Martin Mutembei and Judith Wangata from SERC, with Joseph Obbo from the Computer Science Department. Online lectures and mentoring are being delivered from Cambridge by Amy Weatherup (i-Teams) along with Dr. Lara Allen and Andrew Birley from CGE, supported by Katie Bardes and Dr. Sarwat Howe who regularly lecture on the Cambridge i-Teams course.
We hope this programme will pave the way for i-Teams programmes in other universities around the world.
